CHINA. Hupeh. 10 Cash, ND (1902-05). Kuang-hsu (Guangxu). NGC MS-65 Brown.
cf. CL-HP.23 (obverse) muled with HP.24 (reverse); KM-Y-120a.3; CCC-90. Variety with five rows of dragon scales and with short stroke on "hsu". Other interesting diagnostic characteristics of this die pair include several die cuds and cracks on the obverse while the reverse exhibits evidence of die clashing and degradation of the die; specifically the upper central right strokes of the character "Bao" are very faint with only remnants remaining. This exceptionally charming Gem displays a soft chocolate brown color that is punctuated by occasional patches of mint red. Though slightly softly struck, the present example remains a fully charming representative of the type, and is certain to command many bids.

Estimate: $700 - $900
