CHINA. Kirin. 3 Mace 6 Candareens (50 Cents), ND (1898). Kirin Mint. Kuang-hsu (Guangxu). PCGS Genuine--Chopmark, AU Details.
L&M-517; K-290; KM-Y-182; WS-0375. Type 2 "pao." Variety with dotted "sheng" and "kuang," and with rosettes on the dragon side. This exceptionally attractive fractional piece displays a wash of handsome luster and some light golden toning on the surfaces. Just a small smattering of contact and friction are noted in the fields, and a tiny chop on the character side inside the top central character determines the grade. A thoroughly handsome piece, and one that is certain to draw much fanfare from the always passionate collectors of Chinese coins.
