CHINA. Kwangtung. 7 Mace 2 Candareens (Dollar), ND (1890-1908). Kwangtung Mint. Kuang-hsu (Guangxu). PCGS Genuine--Chopmark, EF Details.
L&M-133; K-26; KM-Y-203; WS-0941. Variety with small rosettes (struck from Heaton Mint dies). Bold and powerfully struck chopmarks are the theme with this example. Well struck originally with dies made in Birmingham, this Dollar traveled around the orient and encountered some very heavy handed assayers. Some original surfaces are still observed with some russet toning areas. Despite, or perhaps because of, the heavy chops, this is truly an interesting and unique example that is sure to bring spirted bidding.
Estimate: $500 - $1000
