CHINA. Qing Dynasty. 50 Cash, ND (ca. November 1853-March 1854). Board of Works Mint, Old Branch. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). EXTREMELY FINE.
Hartill-22.759; FD-2444. Weight: 56.48 gms. Seven stroke Bei variety. Obverse: Xian Feng Zhong Bao"; Reverse: "Dang Wu Shi". This handsome and nicely preserved example boasts well-formed characters with much of the original naturally rough surface texture and smooth rims. The minor earthen deposits amongst the devices is remnants from the casting process and add to its pleasing appearance and originality.
