CHINA. Qing Dynasty. Jiangsu. 100 Cash, ND (ca. 1854-55). Suzhou or other local Mints. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). VERY FINE.
Hartill-22.913. Weight: 58.52 gms. Obverse: "Xian Feng Yuan Bao"; Reverse: "Dang Bai". This handsome and decently preserved example displays rich brassy patina with minor earthen deposits amongst the devices. Much of the original naturally rough surface texture and file marks on the tops of the devices are intact, though they show signs of being handled. Close inspection reveals numerous small hit marks and bumps on the rims mentioned for accuracy, though hardly distracting. This pleasing example is sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
