CHINA. Qing Dynasty. Sichuan. 100 Cash, ND (ca. 1853-54). Chengdu Mint. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). VERY FINE.
Hartill-22.981; FD-2532. Weight: 55.44 gms. Obverse: "Xian Feng Yuan Bao"; Reverse: "Dang Bai". This attractive and nicely preserved example displays rich brassy patina with minor earthen deposits amongst the devices and areas of lighter coloration on the high points. Much of the original naturally rough surface texture is intact with somewhat smoother areas in the open fields. Close inspection reveals several light edge bumps on both sides mentioned for accuracy, but is hardly a distraction.
