(t) CHINA. Yunnan Sanchuo Jieding. Provincial Three Stamp Remittance Ingots. Silver 6.5 Tael Bank Ingot, ND. Graded XF40 by Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company.
BMC-Class LXVI Group I # 830. Weight: 232.6 gms. "Cheng Lin Chang Hao Hui Hao Wen Yin" (Chenglinchang Bank, Remittance bank fine silver), "Guo Ji Gong Gu Hao" (Guo Bank, public assay bank), later added era stamp: "Dao Guang Yuan Nian" (Daoguang era, first year). The stamps are deeply applied with well-formed characters, though the central stamp does exhibit a bit of flatness on some characters and the right assay stamp is bold, clear and easily readable. The later added era stamp is crisp with each character clear and was applied over a plug to add weight. This ingot offers an aspect not normally encountered with sycee, the addition of a plug to bring up the weight, though this was probably done at the time of the later stamp it is interesting nonetheless.
Estimate: $700 - $1000
