(t) CHINA. Kwangtung. Fantasy Silver 50 Cents, ND ("1909-11"). Hsuan-t'ung (Xuantong [Puyi]). NGC MS-61.
cf. K-B96 (gold); KMX-M271; cf. WS-1349-70 (copper). Obverse: Half-length view of the young emperor standing facing slightly left, his clothes rather oversized; Reverse: Imperial dragon coiled clockwise; legend around in Manchu, Chinese characters, and English. A VERY RARE and highly brilliant example, this fantasy issue captures the youthful ruler when his actual coinage would not have presented his image. Lustrous and lightly frosted on the devices, with a hint of golden toning at the rims.
Estimate: $4000 - $6000
