Barac-22. Diameter: 32mm; Weight: 22.18 gms. Awarded to Private Charles N. Hanks. Obverse: CHINA RELIEF EXPEDITION / 1900 - 1901, imperial dragon facing; Reverse: UNITED STATES ARMY, eagle, with head right and wings spread, standing facing upon pile of arms and banners; FOR / SERVICE in two lines below. Edge: No 190 (engraved). Loop and ring attached at the top. Ribbon: Wide yellow vertical band, with thin dark blue vertical band to outer left and right. Warm brown surfaces, with just a hint of rub upon the high points. A RARE and desirable issue pertaining to American involvement in the Boxer Rebellion. According the official records, this medal (number 190) was awarded on 26 June 1908 to Private Charles N. Hanks of Company H, 14th Infantry.
