INDIA. Indore. Nazarana Rupee, VS 1958. Indore Mint. Shivaji Rao (under Victoria as Empress). NGC Unc Details--Cleaned.
KM-47.2. Milled coinage, third series. EXCESSIVELY RARE, this specimen was part of the two year series that was introduced to counteract counterfeiting that became rampant as the price of silver fell. Old mint machinery was reactivated for this purpose, but nonetheless the effort was abandoned after two years of striking in 1898 and 1901. With such a limited run and mintage, this type is a KEY for the princely series, and a must have for any advanced Indian cabinet. Though cleaned as evidenced by some light hairlines, the enchantingly applied details remain unafflicted by wear and thoroughly wholesome. To view all items from the Yashoda N.
