ATTICA, Athens. Circa 467-465 BC. AR dekadrachm (41,52 g). Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet, earring and necklace; bowl ornamented with spiral and three olive leaves / A-Θ-E, Owl standing facing, with spread wings; olive sprig in upper left field; all within incuse square. The body of the owl on the reverse is expertly restored. Surfaces very lightly crystallized. Struck on a large flan and with a light to darker grey cabinet toning.
