IMP CAES VESPAS AVG P M TR P P P COS III, Laureate bust to right / IVDAEA – CAPTA, Palm tree in center; bearded Jew standing right on left side of tree, his hands tied behind his back; grounded shield behind; on right side of tree, Judaea seated right on cuirass in attitude of mourning, resting left elbow on knee and supporting her head with left hand; grounded shield before; S C in exergue. Unsignificant edge filing and a small corrosion pit in front of bust. Some gentle smoothing of cuprite deposits in fields. A spectacular specimen of this celebrated type. This coin has an expressive portrait of vespasian and an intriguing and well-detailed reverse celebrating the Roman victory over the Jews.
