Vespasian. AD 69-79. AR denarius (2,88 g). Antioch, struck AD 72. IMP CAES VESP AVG P M IIII, Laureate bust right / Palm tree; on left side, Vespasian standing right with foot set on helmet, holding spear and parazonium; on right side, Judaea seated right, with head resting upon hand in attitude of mourning. Struck on a compact flan. A few old marks and scratches on reverse. Lovely cabinet toning. Rare. RIC II.1 1558, BMCRE 510, Ex Sotheby's, Sale 13.07.1977, lot 83 Grade: 1+
