Commodus. AD 180-192- Æ bi-metallic medallion (41 mm, 73,27 g). Struck in Rome, AD 192. L AELIVS AVRELIVS COMMODVS AVG PIVS FELIX, Jugate busts of Commodus and Roma right, with Commodus in front; Commodus laurete and draped, Roma helmeted, curassed and wearing aegis / PM TR P XVII IMP VIII COS VII PP, Pietas seated left on throne, hold hand towards nude child that stands before her. Some corrosion in fields, mostly along the edge. Faint graffiti in obverse field (x) and small traces of earthen deposits. Dark-green patina. An extremely rare and interesting medallion from late in the reign of Commodus.
