Aurelian. AD 270-275. AV aureus (4,22 g). Mediolanum mint, struck, AD 272. IMP C L DOM AVRE – LIANVS P F AVG, Laureate and curassed bust right / VIRTVS AVG, Mars advancing right, holding long transverse spear and trophy over shoulder; mourning captive at feet. A few tiny marks on reverse and surfaces a bit matte, otherwise, virtually as struck. Rare in this condition.
