PTOLEMAIC KINGS of EGYPT. Ptolemy II, 285-246 BC. In the name of Arsinoe II. AR dekadrachm (33,77 g). Struck in Alexandria circa 253-246 BC. Veiled and diademed bust of Arsinoe II right, with the tip of lotus scepter at the top of her head; MM behind neck / ΑΡΣΙΝΟΗΣ - ΦΙΛΑΔΕΛΦΟΥ, Double cornucopiae filled with fruit and bound with fillet. Some corrosion in fields and very minor smoothing of rough areas. Fine iridescent cabinet toning. Earlier graded as XF strike: 5/5, surface: 2/5 - smoothing by the NGC (ticket included).
