SICILY, the Carthaginians in Sicily and North Africa. AR dekadrachm or 5 shekels (36,34 g). Struck circa 260 BC. Head of Tanit (Kore-Persephone) left, wearing barley wreath and pendant-earring / Pegasus flying right; B'RŠT ("in the land") in Punic letters below. Very minor corrosion along the edge, otherwise, excellent metal quality. Well-struck and with a wonderful iridescent cabinet toning. Rare.
