Divus Augustus. 27 BC - AD 14. Æ dupondius (15,55 g). Rome mint, struck under Gaius (Caligula) AD 37-41. DIVVS•AVGVSTVS, radiate head of Divus Augustus left; S C across fields / CONSESV • SENAT • ET EQ • ORDIN • P • Q • R •, Caligula, togate, seated left on curule chair, holding olive branch in right hand and globe in left. Minor cuprite deposits and very light roughness in fields, mostly on the reverse. Small flan flaw on reverse. Incredibly sharp strike and an attractive dark green patina.
