Small silver-washed bronze buckle, ex-Eagle (1707), very rare provenance. 7.2 grams, 1-1/4" x 3/4". A rather ornate, beautifully preserved buckle (used for shoes and straps, not waist belts) with very little sign of wear or corrosion, polished and well toned. XRF: 65% copper, 19% tin, 7% iron, traces of silver and lead. From the Eagle (1707), with original certificate from salvor and pedigreed to Sedwick Auction 20 (lot 1641).
