Lot of two Ancient Judaean copper "widow's mites" (prutahs), Alexander Jannaeus, 103-76 BC. 2.58 and 2.32 grams. Upside-down anchor within a circle and legend reading BASILEWS ALEXANDPOY (King Alexander) / eight-ray star surrounded by a diadem (solid circle). Very popular as one of the smallest-denomination coins used during the time of Christ and referred to in the Bible (Mark 12: 41-44).
