Cupcake-shaped silver amalgam ingot, 34.87 grams, ex-1715 Fleet. 7/8" tall, 1-1/4" diameter Light and porous silver (amalgam), probably contraband cast into a nesting cup-weight (or a plug removed from a pina?) prior to the mercury extraction process, presumably so a smuggler would have a small, almost coin-like piece of contraband silver, no markings of course, dark in color and nicely encrusted all over. From the 1715 Fleet, with photo-certificate.
