ARGOLIS. Epidauros. Circa 265-255 BC. Drachm (Silver, 22 mm, 5.30 g, 5 h). Laureate and bearded head of Asklepios to right. Rev. Asklepios seated left on throne with back, holding long scepter with his left hand and extending his right over the head of a snake that coils to left before him; under the throne, hound lying to right; to right, Ε. BCD Peloponnesos 1235. BMFA 1232 (same dies). Requier, Series I, D1/R1, 51 this coin). Extremely rare, one of eleven examples known. Attractively toned. Minor marks and some striking flatness, otherwise, good very fine.
