ARGOLIS. Epidauros. Circa 225-200 BC. Tetrachalkon (Bronze, 20 mm, 3.88 g, 11 h). Laureate and bearded head of Asklepios to right. Rev. Epione walking left, holding a bowl in her left hand from which she feeds a goose held with her right, behind her and invisible to the viewer; in the field to left, monogram of ΕΠ; in the field to right, monogram of ΝΚΑ. BCD Peloponnesos 1259.2. BMC 14-15. NCP pl. L, vii var. Rare. Well-centered and clear, with a reddish-gold toning. Somewhat pitted surfaces, otherwise, good very fine.
