CYPRUS. Paphos. Ti.... ?, circa 470-450 BC. Stater (Silver, 21.5 mm, 11.18 g, 1 h). Man-headed bull - the river god Bokaros - moving to right on pelleted ground line, his bearded head turned back to left. Rev. 𐠎𐠯 / 𐠪[𐠞] ( = 'pa-si / ku-ti', 'King of Cyprus Ti...' in Cypriote syllabic script) Astragalos; all within a circular incuse. Cf. De Luynes 3006 and Jameson 2334 = Weber 7701. CNG e430, 2018, 187 (same dies). Nomos 18, 2019, 213 (same reverse die). Triton XXV, 2022, 6137 (same reverse die). Nomos 18, 213. Extremely rare. Bold, very well-struck and centered and unusually nice, with an especially powerful river god. Somewhat flatly struck on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
