João VI 960 Reis 1819-R MS63 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM326.1, LMB-477b. Vertical rosettes and small 0 variety. Overstruck on a Chile Republic "Volcano" Peso. A Choice Mint State selection with interesting features, presenting multiple strikes in its history. There are 960 Reis overstruck on older 960 Reis types known, making it thus possible for an issue to contain three different designs. What is apparent here is a flip-over double strike; perhaps, considering how the Chilean host remains so visible, the coin was overstruck and the 960 Reis dies didn't quite impress upon the flan, leading it once again to the press to better strike the reliefs.
