Byzantine Iconographic PB Seal in the name of John Komnenos, doux of Dyrrachion. Shortly after AD 1091/2. Scene of the Transfiguration; in upper field, Christ between Moses to left and Elijah, in lower field, Peter, Jacob, and John in nearly prostrate positions, inscription in two columns: [ΗΜΕΤΑΜΟΡ] to left, Φ Ѡ CI C in four lines to right; all within border of dots / ‒ KЄ(or ΘKЄ?)BOHΘ [TѠ]CѠΔ૪Λ, IѠ[C]ЄBACTѠ SΔOVKIΔYΡ ΡAXIOV[TѠ] KOMNHNѠ(MNHN ligate) in six lines; all within border of dots. John Komnenos, son of Isaac sebastokrator, Irene of Alania and brother of Alexios I, received command of Dyrrachion and the title of sebastos in 1092. He retained his post of Doux of Dyrrachion until 1103.
