PF 61 | UNITED KINGDOM. Victoria, 1837-1901.
Silver crown, 1847. Royal Mint. Proof ("undecimo" on edge).
The so called 'Gothic' crown was never intended for circulation and sold to the public only through official agents, at the time being Hunt and Roskell. It was an immediate success and has always been in high demand, generally held as one of the most beautiful designs British coinage has to offer.

Design by William Dyce. Edge inscribed (raised lettering); Decus et tutamen. anno regni undecimo.
