The name Shaw that appears on Paraguayan coins is not the engraver's name, but the contractor of the mintage, Charles J. Shaw. The coins were struck by Heaton Mint in Birmingham, and the contractor was Shaw Hnos. & Co. (Shaw Brothers) with the order placed at Montevideo in Uruguay.
