TENASSERIM-PEGU: Anonymous, 17th/18th century, cast large tin coin (46.31g), Robinson-68 (this piece, similar to Plate 12.2), 66.5mm; the tò (mythical antelope) facing left, long snout, with feathery legs and without a branch in its mouth, large pellet above the tò // 7-spoke wheel in the center, Buddhist legend around in Burmese letters ("city of great happiness"), large pellet left & right, probably cast from the same mold as Robinson Plate 12.2, choice EF, RR, ex Michael Robinson Collection. The tò facing left is much rarer than facing right. We have had only 2 left but about 20 right in our auctions as recorded on CoinArchives. According to the consignor, the specific gravity of 7.07 indicates almost pure tin.

Estimate: 260-350 USD
