IONIA, Ephesos. Circa 500-420 BC. AR Diobol or Hemihekte (9mm, 0.93 g). Lydo-Milesian or Persic standard. Bee / Quadripartite incuse square. Karwiese Series VI, Type 1A or 1B; cf. SNG Kayhan 119 (drachm) and 1226 (obol). Toned, rough and granular surfaces, small scuff on obverse, find patina on reverse. Near VF.
