PHOENICIA, Tyre. 126/5 BC-AD 65/6. AR Shekel (24mm, 13.54 g, 12h). Illegible date, struck early 1st century AD. Laureate head of Melkart right, lion skin around neck / Eagle standing left on prow; palm frond behind; to left, illegible date above club; to right, KP above illegible monogram; illegible Phoenician letter between legs. DCA Tyre Section 3.79, 696 and 705 (same obv. die); cf. HGC 10, 357 (for type). Compact flan, cleaning scratches, some die wear on obverse. VF.
