CIMMERIAN BOSPOROS. Pantikapaion. Circa 370-355 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 14 mm, 2.42 g, 4 h). Head of a satyr with animal ears and a pug nose facing slightly to left. Rev. ΠANTI Lion crouching to left, head facing, holding spear in its jaws; all within shallow circular incuse. HGC 7, 66. MacDonald 43. SNG BM Black Sea 863. SNG Stancomb 535. Very rare and beautifully toned. Horn silver and minor traces of cleaning, otherwise, good very fine.
