CIMMERIAN BOSPOROS. Pantikapaion. Circa 370-355 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 14 mm, 2.61 g, 6 h). Head of a young satyr with animal ears to right, wearing ivy wreath. Rev. ΠΑΝTI Lion crouching to right, head turned back to left, raising his left forepaw; all within shallow circular incuse. HGC 7, 68. MacDonald 45. SNG BM Black Sea -. SNG Stancomb -. Very rare. A beautifully toned piece of wonderful style. Minor edge cracks and with very light marks, otherwise, good very fine.
