SICILY. Syracuse. Agathokles, 317-289 BC. 50 Litrai (Electrum, 15 mm, 3.53 g, 8 h), circa 310-306/5. Laureate head of Apollo to left; behind, star. Rev. ΣYPAK-OΣΙΩN Tripod with three ring handles, ornamental volutes below the bowl and legs ending in lion's paws. BMC 258 (same dies). HGC 2, 1294. Jenkins, Electrum, Group B (O7/R7). SNG ANS 623-625 (same dies). Perfectly struck and of exceptionally fine early Hellenistic style. A few light scratches and marks, otherwise, extremely fine.
