Nero Claudius Drusus, died 9 BC. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 34 mm, 27.15 g, 4 h), Rome, struck under Claudius, 42-43. NERO CLAVDIVS•DRVSVS GERMANICVS•IMP Bare head of Nero Claudius Drusus to left. Rev. TI•CLAVDIVS•CAESAR AVG•P•M•TR P•IMP•P•P• / S C Claudius, togate, seated left on curule chair, holding branch in his right hand and resting his left on his lap, his feet set on cuirass; around the chair, helmet, spears, shields, and a globe. BMC 208. CBN 198. Cohen 8. RIC 109. A lovely example with a particularly noble portrait and attractive orichalcum surfaces. Minor spot of corrosion on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
