Philip II, as Caesar, 244-247. Antoninianus (Silver, 23 mm, 4.09 g, 7 h), Rome, 244. M IVL PHILIPPVS CAES Radiate and draped bust of Philip II to right, seen from behind. Rev. PIETAS AVGVSTOR Sprinkler, simpulum, jug, knife and lituus. Cohen 32. Hunter 3. RIC 215. Rare. Lustrous and with a lovely portrait of the young Caesar. The reverse a bit weak, otherwise, virtually as struck.
