Red Specimen overprint. Printed by TDLR. A seldom encountered specimen of this high denomination note. Bright purple and yellow hues help pop the intricate design details on the obverse. In the upper right corner of the note is a hand penned "8" in red. This variety shows with "SPECIMEN" printed across the face of the note diagonally where the ever popular "Elephant" vignette can be seen. The reverse is printed in dark purple ink, and displays a ship at center with bank name at top & bottom. 100 counters can be seen at opposing ends encased within an intricate geometrically lathed design. PMG comments "Ink, Mounting Residue." PMG Pop 4/None Finer.
