NGC MS62 | George I (1714-1727), 'South Sea Company' Shilling, 1723, second laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, SSC in angles, seven strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 5h (Bull 1591; ESC 1178; C&R 726; Spink 3648), a broad striking on a splayed flan, handsomely uniform and struck up, seldom met with for the second bust issues of this famous issue whose popularity is soaring in light of the pending Tercentenary, near extremely fine, surprisingly rare in higher grades, in NGC holder, graded MS62 (Cert. 6292881-016).
