George II (1727-1760), 'Roses and Plumes' Shilling, 1737, young head left, large lettering, rev. crowned cruciform shields, roses and plumes in angles, 8 strings to harp, edge obliquely milled, 6.05g, 6h (ESC 1200; Bull 1711; Spink 3698), a beautiful example with an exceptional portrait, a trace of flecking, otherwise darkly toned, a most pleasing extremely fine, rare so nice.
