Edward the Confessor (1042-1066), 'Hammer Cross' Type, Penny, 1059-1062, Dorchester, Blacman, crowned and draped bust right, trefoil-tipped sceptre before, rev. + BLACAMAN ON DORC, voided short cross with 'hammer' terminals, 1.30g, 12h (BEH Type G; North 828; BMC XI; Spink 1182), heavily crimped, otherwise of good metal, toned, struck details a really bold very fine, extremely rare, none recorded on EMC or in SCBI.
