Cnut (1016-1035/36), 'Quatrefoil' Type, Penny, 1016-1023, "Winchester Dies", Shaftesbury, Ælfwine, crowned and draped bust left, inside quatrefoil, rev. + ÆLFPINE ON S[E]FTE voided long cross atop quatrefoil, 1.31g, 1h (SCBI 15, 3351; North 781; BMC VIII, and no. 497; Spink 1157), a large fragment with a ragged edge, otherwise struck details superb for series, extremely fine, rare.
