William I 'the Conqueror' (1066-1087), 'Two Stars' Type, Penny, 1074-1077, Shaftesbury, Aelnoth, crowned bust facing, between two stars, rev. + ALNOÐ ON SAFTI, pellet-tipped quadrilobe over cross bottonnée, 1.21g, 9h (P W P Carlyon-Britton, SNC, November 1902, Col. 5654, no. 238 this coin; North 845; BMC V; Spink 1254), some superficial stressing and marks under magnification, otherwise a delightful 'gunmetal' example, some antique scuffs on reverse, otherwise good very fine, very rare and with an excellent pedigree.
