Stephen (1135-1154), 'Watford' Type, Penny, 1136-1145, Shaftesbury, Sagrim, crowned bust right, rev. + SAGRI[M ....], cross potent, inward fleur-de-lys in angles, 1.34g, 10h (Mack 30b; SCBI 48, 1260; North 873; BMC I, and no. 91; Spink 1278), concave flan of excellent fabric, struck flat before bust, otherwise colourfully toned, struck details better than very fine, scarce.
