William I (1066-1087), 'Two Stars' Type, Penny, 1074-1077, Wareham, Æthelric, crowned bust facing, between two stars, rev. + IEGELRIC ON PERI, pellet-tipped quadrilobe over cross bottonnée, 1.25g, 6h (North 845; BMC V, -; Spink 1254), some partial striking softness, otherwise dark toned, a pleasingly bold very fine, especially the portrait, very rare.
