Commissioned and produced by the East India Company in conjunction with the government of St. Helena, with Royal Approval of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. A modern re-interpretation of one of the iconic Una and the Lion Five Pound piece by William Wyon, issued in 1839. Now part of The East India Company's Masterpiece Collection.

Designed by Jody Clark / Queen Victoria standing, robed and crowned, holding and orb in her left hand and directing a lion to left, with a sceptre extended in her right hand, theme drawn from Edmund Spenser's 1950 epic poem entitled the Faerie Queene. Inscription ' DIRIGE DEUS GRESSUS MEOS' above, date of issue in Latin numerals 'MMXXI' below, below cypher of the East India Company 'EIC' below date. Designed by William Wyon. Edge milled.
Comes with the original box as issued by the Mint and the certificate of authenticity (COA). In secure plastic holder, graded NGC PF 70 ULTRA CAMEO, certification number 6319437-007.
