This design is the first release in a Royal Mint series dedicated to the history of British monarchy and the monarchs of England, Great Britain and the United Kingdom, and features Henry VII (1485 - 1509) of the Tudor dynasty. The reverse is based on a coin issued during his reign.
Fifth Portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, JC below. Legend around " ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D · 200 POUNDS · 2022 ·". Design by Jody Clark./ Reverse depicts an imitation of an original hammered coin during King Henry VII's reign, with a beaded border with uneven rim. Crowned portrait of Henry VII of England at centre, facing right. Surrounded by legend "HENRIC VII DI GRA REX AGL Z" in Medieval lettering, preceded by a French fleur-de-lis and a mint mark in the shape of a heart topped with a cross. Design by Alexander of Bruchsal. Edge milled.
Comes with the original box as issued by the Mint and the certificate of authenticity (COA). In secure plastic holder, graded NGC PF 70 ULTRA CAMEO, certification number 6320054-002.
