City of London, Georgian silver Broker's Badge, c. 1816-1837, by Benjamin Wyon, crowned Royal arms, rev. arms of the City of London with griffin supporters, engraved name below, HENRY PEARSE HUGHES, 41mm. Henry Pearse Hughes died in 1865 and is buried in a monumental tomb in the Lebanon Circle at Highgate Cemetery. He is listed as a Wool Broker and was later trading as Henry Pearse Hughes & Sons. One of the sons, also Henry Pearse Hughes, seems to have been involved with the South Australian Company. They had offices at 10 & 11 Basinghall Street, London EC.
