Henry Pearse Hughes died in 1865 and is buried in a monumental tomb in the Lebanon Circle at Highgate Cemetery. He is listed as a Wool Broker and was later trading as Henry Pearse Hughes & Sons. One of the sons, also Henry Pearse Hughes, seems to have been involved with the South Australian Company. They had offices at 10 & 11 Basinghall Street, London EC.
