Christopher was a cardinal of St. Damasus under Pope Leo V, who was imprisoned in October 903, dying shortly afterwards. Christopher was proclaimed the new pope from though lasted only till January 904 when he was deposed by Pope Sergius III. An Antipope is a person who has claimed the title of the Pope but was not elected as one by the relevant council.
