USA, The Inter Allied Games, 1919, Pershing Stadium, Paris, shield-shaped bronze souvenir badge, American eagle atop central legend, 53 x 53mm., very fine.
After World War I the Americans organised the Games in the newly built stadium (which was later donated to France). Some 1500 athletes from eighteen nations participated in the proceedings which featured nineteen sports.
