Ionia, Kolophon AR Tetradrachm. Circa 180 BC. In the names and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Egesimachos, moneyer. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress / Zeus Aëtophoros seated to left, holding sceptre; AΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ to right; monogram above lyre in left field, [H]ΓΗΣΙΜΑΧΟΣ in exergue. Cf. Price 1872 (monogram and location of moneyer's name); cf. Müller 1013 (same); Gemini V, 66. 15.85g, 29mm, 12h.

Good Very Fine; edge chipped, attractive light tone. Apparently unpublished variant of an extremely rare type.
